I never knew my father's mother, but grew up hearing many wonderful stories about her. And the best one was always about her chocolate pie. Back then, recipes were so carefully guarded, she wouldn't even share them with her family. So her young granddaughter was sent into the kitchen to spy on the chocolate pie creation, resulting in this sublime recipe.
With it's rich, baked chocolate, it's more of a pot de creme in crust than the typical unbaked chocolate pie.
